Picture this: crystal-clear turquoise waters, consistent warm tropical breezes, and adrenaline-pumping adventures against a backdrop of stunning Pacific landscapes. As soon as we got there we knew we had to run kitesurfing tours in Fiji. If you're a thrill-seeker on the lookout for your next kitesurfing expedition, look no further than Fiji.
Under 4 hours direct flight from Sydney and with its windy season in the Australian winter Fiji was a no-brainer for us to escape the cold and get in as much kiting as we could stomach with 25 degree water, consistent tradewinds and stunning flat water and wave spots.
Dropping into some fun waves!
You'll experience massive, protected coral lagoons ideal for learning to kite, dialing in board riding, or drilling that next trick.
Some days you'll be kiting on the coral lagoon right out the front of the resort, want waves? They're right there, want shallow, flat water? It's right there too. We love Fiji because it has so many kiting options for us around where we base ourselves that you'll never get bored.
Out the front of the resort.
What keeps me excited about coming back to Fiji is the variety in spots and the ability to keep on progressing. There's always something I can be working on and there's really friendly progressions to do it. If I'm trying a new skill I've got a heap of shallow water coral lagoons to practice it in to begin with and heaps of instructors around to give me feedback and footage of what I need to work on. After that I can go try the trick in some offshore waves so if I crash it I'm not worried about getting caught inside. After that's dialled in then I've got huge downwinders with a variety of different wave and flat water options where I can just play with a group of other epic kiters.
I can't emphasise enough how much fun it is exploring and kiting through Fiji with a bunch of other kitesurfing legends just as keen on progression and having fun as you are.
One group of absolute legends! Can't wait to see them all again!
Beyond just kitesurfing there's something about the Fijian people and their culture which captured us. I've rarely met such sweet and generous people who also have an absolutely wicked sense of humour. If you want the Australian sarcastic humour but from people who are actually kind Fiji is the place to go. We do our best to involve local businesses in supporting our tour so we can provide them with extra opportunities to make a living and improve their quality of life. Over the years it has been heartwarming to see the difference we have been able to make from coming to Fiji and supporting locals by doing village dinners, paying the wives of the boat drivers to make snacks for us each day, and supporting local farmers by including their fruit in our lunches when we go out on adventures.
We started doing dinners with the family of one of the boat drivers. Delicious!
If you're looking for an epic adventure, getting way better at kitesurfing and making some lifelong friends you need to put Fiji on your bucket list.
We can't wait to have you join us there!
